Chief engineer Yousaf Ali introduces himself
My name is Yousaf Ali. I am from the Swat Valley in the mountains of northwestern Pakistan, about 245 km from Pakistan's capital (Islamabad). My hometown, Swat, is famous for its natural beauty and is called "Switzerland in Pakistan".

I majored in structural engineering at graduate school and I am a civil engineer. I have 13 years of practical work experience in various fields and projects. I have worked with various communities. I have much experience in the construction of schools, medical facilities, other infrastructure facilities, and water sanitation facilities. Through my civil engineering skills, I am working on preservation, creation, and improvement of the environment in which we live.
I have been looking for a job since I lost my job in September 2020. The JEN Pakistan office started recruiting chief engineers in July 2021. The job was so appealing to me that I applied and remained on the shortlist. I was fortunately selected for the position of chief engineer after the interview. As a JEN staff member, I would like to devise long-term engineering solutions that meet the needs of the next generation.
It's been a week since I started working at the JEN Pakistan office and I have found that all the staff are very professional and cooperative. I am honored to work with the professional staff at the office. Working in such an environment is a great opportunity to improve my career. I will be able to contribute to society based on my experience and technical expertise. I strongly hope that I will start working in Kurram district, and I would like to utilize my skills to improve the learning environment for students.
