Mask circumstances under the Covid-19

The Covid-19 was widespread in Pakistan like other countries. People with limited knowledge and supplies could not protect themselves from the decease, and the number of victims increased. Although the government implemented lockdowns or smart lockdowns in various cities in Pakistan and began vaccinations, the emergence of corona variants and lack of care about infectious diseases are still afflicting people.

JEN assisted families affected by Covid-19 in District Mirpur, AJK and District Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by providing food rations enough for 2 months. The projects were much appreciated by the community and government as the distribution was conducted at the peak of COVID-19. Beneficiaries lost their loved ones and lost their jobs. They couldn't afford the food for their families.

JEN completed a livelihood support project in District DI Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Tharparker, Sindh province. The number of beneficiaries was large, and JEN had to distribute cattle feed, equipment and medicines to them. JEN always urged the people to wear masks during the project, but many people could not wear masks because masks were not available in some remote areas of Sindh province and District DI Khan in KP province. People in the communities followed an alternative way to protect them against the virus. Both women and men were using shawls to cover their mouths and noses.
