Posters for prevention of Chikungunya and Dengue

In our project sites, there are still a lot of people affected by Chikungunya. We have written about the epidemic of Chikungunya in Haiti in our previous blog articles, and some of you might have already known about the disease. In general, Chikungunya has symptoms such as high fever and joint pain, which make people suffer greatly.

As Chikungunya, as well as Dengue, are transmitted by mosquitoes, it is important to prevent the increase of mosquitoes so as not to be affected by the diseases. For the purpose of disseminating accurate knowledge to local people, JEN has made posters and cards for our activities, thanks to supports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and our supporters.

As you see in the pictures below, the visual images of the posters and cards help people easily understand the cause of the diseases and the way to prevent them. Using these posters and cards, JEN staff conducts our activities in our project sites, Grand Goave, Gressier and Leogane. Having correct knowledge about the diseases encourages people to change their behaviors by themselves, which have a great effect to the prevention of the diseases.
